Bantwal native Fr Felix Leo Pinto, serving as priest in Assam, passes away

Bantwal, Dec 30: Fr Felix Leo Pinto (57), a native of Surikumaru in Mani, Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district, who was serving as a priest in the Bongaigaon Diocese of Assam, passed away due to illness in the early hours of December 30.

The news of his demise has plunged Surikumaru and religious circles into deep grief and mourning.

Born on February 28, 1968, to Bonaventure Pinto and Alice Pinto, Fr Felix Leo Pinto imbibed values of faith, discipline and service from a young age.

Choosing a life dedicated to religious service, Fr Felix Leo Pinto was ordained as a priest on May 1, 2003. Thereafter, he served faithfully in the Bongaigaon Diocese for several years, dedicating his life to the service of the people.

Known for his simple nature, gentle speech, love and concern for others, Fr Felix Pinto guided countless faithful through his preaching, social service and commitment to human values. Wherever he served, he endeared himself to people through his humility and warmth.

He is survived by his father Bonaventure Pinto, brother Victor Pinto, sisters, and a large circle of relatives and friends.
