Mangaluru: Christmas Souharda Sahamilana at Rosario Cathedral

Mangaluru, Dec 19: Christmas Souharda Sahamilana was organized by Rosario Cathedral, Bolar, on Tuesday, December 16, in celebration of the Christmas festival. The event was held in an atmosphere of unity and goodwill, with the primary objective of spreading the message of peaceful coexistence, love, and harmony among people of all religions.

A total of 14 non-Catholic families from the 14 wards of Rosario Cathedral participated in this gathering, giving the program a special significance and uniqueness. The presence of guests from different religions further enhanced the spirit of harmony and goodwill at the event.

The programme was inaugurated with a cake-cutting ceremony by the parish priest of Rosario Cathedral, Fr Valerian D’Souza, along with the guests—Pastor Gabriel Ronith of Kanti Church and Mahesh Rao, trustee of Shri Mahalingeshwara Temple.

Christmas carol singing and games presented by the ICYM Rosario Youth Association added to the festive cheer of the celebration. On the occasion, Bharathi Bolar delivered a Christmas message and extended festival greetings to all. Corporator Latheef distributed prizes to the participants.

Fr Valerian Fernandes, Fr Jaison Lobo, John D’Silva, Cyril Rosario, religious sisters, and members of the Church Pastoral Council were present.

Hazel Menezes proposed the vote of thanks, while the programme was compered by Mabel D’Souza.
