Mangaluru, Dec 13: In a rare and heart-warming development, two couples who had approached the Family Court in Mangaluru, Dakshina Kannada district, seeking divorce chose to reconcile and remarry during the Lok Adalat proceedings held on Saturday.

The couples had earlier filed divorce petitions citing marital disputes arising from various reasons. During the course of the hearings, efforts were made to resolve the cases through the court’s mediation centre.

The mediators counselled both husbands and wives, encouraging reconciliation and mutual understanding, while emphasising the importance of resolving differences to continue their marital lives together.

Following sustained mediation, both couples agreed to reunite and give their marital relationships another chance. During the Lok Adalat session, the couples appeared before the principal judge of the Family Court, Lakshminarayana Bhat K, and reaffirmed their commitment by exchanging garlands, symbolically marking their remarriage and bringing the cases to a happy conclusion.

The remarriage ceremonies were conducted under the mediation of principal judge Lakshminarayana Bhat.

Dakshina Kannada District Legal Services Authority secretary Zaibunneesa provided further details regarding the event.
