Bhubaneswar, Feb 20 (IANS) At least eleven workers sustained injuries after the roof of a silo at Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited's (IFFCO) plant at Paradip in Odisha's Jagatsinghpur district collapsed Monday, police said.

"It was an old structure. It collapsed during the tiffin break when there was thin attendance," District Superintendent of Police S. Devdutt Singh told IANS.

Rescue operations were launched immediately and all the injured persons were moved to the local hospital for treatment, he said.

M.R. Patel, executive director of the fertiliser unit said it was a big silo containing about 12,000 tonnes of material. Two workers suffered some fractures on their legs while the others sustained minor injuries, Patel told IANS.

Paradip is about 110 km from state capital Bhubaneswar.
