‘Nasha Mukta Mangaluru’ campaign to be launched on Dec 27 with 102 programmes

Mangaluru, Dec 9: In collaboration with Mangaluru city police, Make a Change Foundation is set to launch the large-scale ‘Nasha Mukta Mangaluru’ (Drug-Free Mangaluru) campaign, featuring a total of 102 programmes aimed at creating widespread awareness on drug abuse, especially among the youth and students.

The inauguration ceremony will witness the presence of several dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly U T Khader, Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta, Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner, and the Mangaluru city police commissioner. Religious leaders such as the bishop of Mangaluru, seers of Ramakrishna Math, and Mangaluru Khazis, along with well-known Tulu actors, are expected to join hands with the campaign.

The initiative is designed primarily for youth and students, with several state-level competitions planned as part of the awareness drive.

The details are as follows:

Reel & Short Video Contest: Participants can create youth-centric reels or short videos (30–60 seconds) highlighting the dangers of drug abuse and conveying awareness messages.

Drug-Free Innovation Model Exhibition: An inter-college platform for students to present innovative models or ideas promoting a drug-free Mangaluru.

Paper Presentation: Students may write and present research-driven papers introducing new ideas for preventing drug abuse.

Fitness Challenge: To be held at a prominent mall in Mangaluru, encouraging youth towards a healthy lifestyle.

Digital Poster Contest: A creative opportunity to design digital posters spreading anti-drug awareness.

One-Day Influencer: A unique concept where participants create impactful content to influence society with a drug-free message.

Flash Mob: Awareness through music and dance performances in public spaces.

The objective of the campaign is to build a socially responsible and creative community by raising strong awareness on the consequences of drug use. The inauguration will be held on December 27, 2025, at the TMA Pai International Convention Centre, Mangaluru. All youth, especially students, are invited to participate.

A press conference will be held three days prior to the event to share detailed plans.
