Mumbai, Dec 7: In a heartfelt and emotional turn of events, Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal have officially announced the cancellation of their wedding, which was earlier scheduled to take place on November 23 in Sangli.
Both Smriti and Palash took to Instagram on Sunday to clarify the intense speculation surrounding their personal lives and urged everyone to respect the privacy of both families during what they described as a difficult phase.

Smriti Mandhana, in a brief yet sincere message, said she wished to move forward without further discussion.
“I need to clarify that the wedding is called off. I would like to close this matter here and implore all of you to do the same,” she wrote, expressing gratitude for the support she has been receiving.
Reaffirming her focus on her cricketing career, Smriti added, “I believe there is a higher purpose driving us all… I hope to continue to play and win trophies for India for as long as possible.”
Palash Muchhal, too, shared his feelings on Instagram, describing it as the toughest time of his life. He strongly condemned the rumours circulating on social media and announced that strict legal action would be taken against those spreading false allegations.
“It’s been very difficult for me to see people react so easily on baseless rumours… Our words can wound in ways we may never understand,” he stated.
The couple’s much-anticipated wedding was postponed last month after Smriti’s father and Palash were both hospitalised unexpectedly. Following the delay, social media was abuzz with conjecture, especially after Smriti removed all wedding-related posts from her account.
Earlier, Palash’s sister and popular singer Palak Muchhal had appealed for kindness and positivity, stating the situation had placed significant emotional strain on both families.
With the announcement now made public by the two individuals directly concerned, they have urged fans, well-wishers and the media to allow them space to heal and move ahead with dignity.
