Udupi, Nov 22: The Annual Day celebration of St Mary’s English Medium School for play school to grade 2 was held on November 21 and grades 3 to 6 in the St Mary’s Auditorium, marked by joy, enthusiasm and active participation from students, staff and parents.
Play school to grade 2:
The programme began with a soulful prayer song by the KG students, invoking blessings for a successful event. This was followed by a beautiful welcome dance by the tiny tots of St Mary’s, which set a cheerful tone for the celebration.
The formal stage programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Dhanush and Hanvika from UKG, who extended greetings to the dignitaries, parents and well-wishers. The event was skilfully anchored by the young MCs Anvay and Dhanvika of UKG.



























































The school was honoured to have Dr Rayan Mathias, senior student counsellor, MAHE Manipal, as the chief guest. The programme was presided over by Fr Charles Menezes, correspondent, St Mary’s Educational Institutions. Distinguished guests Maxim D’Souza, vice president, and Dr Col Arthur Rodrigues, secretary, parish pastoral council, Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi, were present on the stage along with principal Fr Vijay Joyson D’Souza and vice principal Rita Quadros.
The chief guest was felicitated, and Srinidhi Rao presented the words of felicitation, appreciating his contributions.
In his inspiring address, the chief guest congratulated the students and teachers for the meticulous preparation and impressive performances. He emphasised the rising importance of mental health awareness among young students, highlighting that today’s world is full of competition, leading children to experience increasing levels of stress. He urged parents to allow their children the freedom to flourish in their own way, encouraging them to excel in the areas they are genuinely interested in. His message focused on nurturing students’ emotional well-being along with their academic growth.
In his presidential address, the correspondent, Fr Charles Menezes, stressed the need for strong collaboration between parents and the school. He noted that parental monitoring and involvement play a crucial role in shaping the behaviour, values and overall personality of children. He encouraged parents to cooperate with teachers in making the students’ lives vibrant, colourful and meaningful.
The annual report of the school was presented by the principal, highlighting the institution’s progress, achievements and activities throughout the year.
Following the formal ceremony, the audience enjoyed a delightful cultural programme, introduced by Samhitha and Jayden of UKG. The performances included energetic dances, dance dramas, theme songs and skits based on various creative and educational themes, showcasing the talent and confidence of the young performers.
The celebration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Jeon and Amyra of UKG, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, parents, teachers and students for their valuable presence and support.

The formal stage programme opened with a warm welcome address by Laveena Menezes, who greeted the dignitaries, parents and well-wishers. The formal part of the program was compered efficiently by Daivikand Mehek Fathima of grade 6.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr Praveen Martis, vice chancellor, St Aloysius Deemed to be University, Mangaluru, who served as the chief guest. Also present on the stage were correspondent Fr Charles Menezes, principal Vijay Joyson D’Souza, vice principal Rita Quadros, Maxim D’Souza, and Col Arthur Rodrigues.
As a mark of honour, the chief guest was felicitated, and Roopa K S delivered the words of felicitation, appreciating his contributions to the field of education.
