New Delhi, Mar 13: Mohammad Fathali, Ambassador of Iran to India, on Friday underlined the close relationship between the two nations, saying they share common interests and values that encourage mutual support during challenging times.
Speaking to the media, the envoy said the people of both countries share a deep sense of solidarity, which further strengthens bilateral cooperation.
“The suffering of the people of India is our suffering and vice versa,” he said, adding that such understanding motivates both governments to assist each other.

Fathali noted that diplomatic engagement between the two countries remains active, with senior officials from both sides recently holding discussions on matters of mutual concern. He expressed confidence that ongoing dialogue would help resolve challenges and further expand cooperation.
Referring to interactions between top leaders, the envoy said both Narendra Modi and Masoud Pezeshkian remain committed to strengthening ties and continuing constructive engagement.
He also spoke about the International Quds Day Conference, urging people to uphold justice and truth and to stand on what he described as the right side of history.
Fathali added that Iran would continue to pursue its policies based on its principles and values while working to deepen cooperation with friendly nations, including India.
