Jaipur, Mar 13: A tragic accident at a private textile factory in the RIICO industrial area, Balotra claimed the lives of three workers on Friday, sparking chaos outside the district hospital as relatives and locals gathered in large numbers.
The incident occurred in Phase III of the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) industrial area while cleaning work was underway in a sludge tank. According to initial reports, the three workers entered the tank when their health suddenly deteriorated. Officials suspect they inhaled toxic gases trapped inside, causing them to lose consciousness.

Co-workers rushed the men to Nahata District Hospital, but doctors declared them dead upon arrival. The deceased have been identified as Gumanaram (30), Shravan (25), and Vishambhar (54), all engaged in cleaning operations at the factory.
The news of the deaths quickly spread, prompting a large gathering of family members and locals at the hospital. The atmosphere turned tense, and relatives staged a road blockade outside the hospital mortuary, demanding answers.
Senior officials, including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), arrived at the hospital to manage the situation and collect details about the accident. The bodies have been shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem examinations, and a formal investigation has been launched.
Preliminary findings indicate the workers may have suffocated due to inhalation of toxic gases. Authorities are also expected to examine whether adequate safety measures were in place during the cleaning operation.
