Christ King Institutions celebrate ‘Children’s Festival’ with great enthusiasm at Karkala

Karkala, Nov 15: The Christ King Educational Institutions celebrated a vibrant and festive Children’s Festival at Gandhi Maidan on the occasion of Children’s Day, drawing enthusiastic participation from students, parents, and the public. The event was held under the banner of the Teachers–Parents Association.

Maruthi, deputy director of Pre-University Education, inaugurated the celebration. In his address, he applauded Christ King Institutions for introducing several student-centric initiatives and encouraged students to make good use of them to become responsible future citizens.

Chief guest Lokesh C, deputy director of the department of public instruction, motivated students to dream big and work consistently towards achieving success. Guest speaker Shivaram Babu M, deputy range forest officer, Kudremukh Wildlife Division, emphasised the importance of sports and physical health and urged students to plant trees and contribute to environmental protection.

Rotary Club Karkala president Naveen Chandra Shetty stressed the need for developing leadership skills from a young age.

State-level karate achiever and national-level selectee Sudhiksha presided over the programme.

Dignitaries inaugurated a variety of student-driven attractions including science model exhibits, art and craft displays, food stalls, and fun game booths. The event grounds buzzed with activity as students showcased their creativity, culinary skills, and scientific thinking. On-the-spot drawing sessions and cultural performances added colour to the celebration.

Prominent personalities of Christ King Education Trust - secretary Aveline Lewis, member Dr Peter Fernandes, PU principal Lakshmi Narayana Kamath, primary headmaster Rudolph Kishore Lobo, vice principal Dr Prakash Bhat, counsellor Dr Shalet Sequeira, administrative officer Kiran Crasta, and section-wise PTA presidents—were present.

High school headmistress Josna Snehalatha welcomed the gathering, while Primary School English teacher Alice Lobo compered the event and proposed the vote of thanks.
