Margao, Sep 13: Noted Konkani writer and translator Snehalata Bhatikar passed away following a brief illness. She was 85.
A well-known figure in Konkani literary circles, Bhatikar made significant contributions to literary translation and earned the Goa Konkani Akademi Award for translation. She also received several other honours from the Konkani Bhasha Mandal and other literary organisations.
Bhatikar held a postgraduate degree in social work from the Christian Medical College, Vellore, and worked as a psychological counsellor.

She was the wife of former IAS officer and writer Arvind Bhatikar.
The Konkani Bhasha Mandal and the All India Konkani Parishad have condoled her demise.
