Bantwal, Nov 14: Loreto English Medium High School CBSE, Loreto, Bantwal celebrated Children’s Day with great enthusiasm and joy. The programme was graced by the presence of principal Fr Jason Vijay Monis, chief guest Prathima Y V (ECO, Bantwal), PTA vice president Rodney D’Souza, and vice principal Anitha Pais.
The celebration began with a prayer song presented by the teachers, followed by a welcome dance. The dignitaries inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp, after which a floral tribute was offered to the portrait of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

In her address, chief guest Prathima Y V highlighted the significance of Children’s Day and explained the reason behind its celebration. She emphasised Nehru’s deep love for children and his belief in them as the nation’s future. She also spoke about key children’s rights upheld by the government, including the Right to Education, the Right to Protection (Surak?ateya Hakku), which ensures that every child grows up without fear, and the Right to Expression, enabling children to voice their thoughts freely and confidently.
Principal Fr Jason Vijay Monis extended warm greetings to the students. He compared children to young plants, explaining that just as plants grow well when nurtured with water and manure, children too flourish when they receive support and guidance from parents and teachers. He reminded the students that they are provided with ample opportunities and encouraged them to make the best use of them. He added that parents and teachers correct children out of love and urged students to follow this guidance sincerely so they may shine in the future.
To mark the occasion, various competitions were organised for students, and the winners were felicitated with prizes. The teachers presented a beautiful and engaging cultural programme, while the parents added charm to the celebration with a delightful dance performance.
The programme was compered by Philomen Pinto. Vinitha welcomed the gathering, and Pramila concluded the event with vote of thanks.
