Bhiwandi, Oct 9: In a shocking incident at Salahuddin Ayyubi Memorial Urdu High School, a first-semester student was humiliated over unpaid fees, forcing him to sit on the floor during an exam. The incident came to light when Fahad Faiz Khan, a student of class 10, tearfully asked his father, “Daddy, fee kab pay karoge?” after returning home from school on October 3.

Faiz Khan, the boy’s father, said, “It was Fahad’s first semester’s first exam, and he was asked to sit on the floor, away from other students in the class.” Disturbed by the treatment, Faiz consoled his son and promised to address the issue the next day.

On October 4, Faiz visited the school to enquire about Fahad. “I was told that Fahad sits on the third floor, but I wasn’t allowed to go. Somehow, I managed to go up and saw my son sitting on a newspaper on the floor. When I confronted the exam invigilator, he asked me to speak to the principal. I took my boy out of the room,” Faiz said.

The father then approached the local police, who filed a case against the principal and the teachers involved. Fahad was allowed to return to school to complete his exam.

According to Faiz, Fahad’s total school fee is Rs 2,500, of which Rs 1,200 has already been paid. The school had withheld his class 9 results over the pending Rs 1,300. The family alleges that the school’s actions were a blatant violation of the student’s rights and dignity, causing unnecessary humiliation.

The incident has sparked outrage among parents and education activists, calling for strict action against schools that compromise students’ self-respect over fee disputes.
