Mumbai, Oct 8: Marking three decades in the film industry, actor Bobby Deol chose a heartfelt way to commemorate the milestone — by spending a day with underprivileged children. The actor was greeted with energetic performances, including patriotic songs like "Rang De Basanti Chola" and a nostalgic surprise: a lively rendition of his hit track "Soldier Soldier" from the 1998 blockbuster Soldier.
Clearly moved, Bobby cheered on the kids, applauding their efforts and encouraging them with smiles and advice. He urged them to stay focused on education, discipline, and hard work. “Meeting these children filled me with joy and gratitude,” he shared. One child gleefully remarked, “Bobby sir really enjoyed our dance. He told us to study sincerely — we’re all so happy!”

The moment became a shared memory — uplifting for the children, and a grounding, emotional tribute for the actor who first entered Bollywood with Barsaat in 1995, opposite Twinkle Khanna. He went on to deliver hits like Gupt, Kareeb, Soldier, Badal, Bichhoo, Humraaz, and Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, earning him widespread recognition and the promise of superstardom.
However, Bobby’s career hit a rough patch in the 2000s, with several commercial failures. While he found brief success in ensemble films like Apne, Yamla Pagla Deewana, and Housefull 4, it wasn’t until his recent projects — Class of '83, Aashram, Love Hostel, Animal, and The Ba**ds of Bollywood* — that he saw a powerful resurgence.
To mark the occasion, Bobby posted a tribute video on social media, showcasing posters from all his past films, alongside a candid interview reflecting on how Animal redefined his career. “30 years of many emotions on and off screen … all made worthwhile by your love. That fire still burns, and I’m just getting started!” he wrote.
Looking ahead, Bobby is gearing up for several high-profile releases. He stars in Anurag Kashyap’s Bandar (Monkey In A Cage), which recently premiered at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival under the Special Presentations section. The film also features Saba Azad, Sanya Malhotra, and Sapna Pabbi.
He’s also part of Alpha, alongside Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, and plays a key role in the much-anticipated political action thriller Jana Nayagan, sharing the screen with Vijay, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Prakash Raj.
Three decades in, Bobby Deol has weathered the highs and lows — and now, with renewed acclaim and an exciting slate of projects, he’s proving that his second innings might just be his strongest yet.
