Abia, Oct 6: India's para badminton star Pramod Bhagat delivered yet another masterclass on the international stage, clinching three gold medals at the 1st Abia Para Badminton International 2025, and reaffirming his status as one of the sport’s all-time greats.
Bhagat began his golden run by winning the men’s singles SL3 title, defeating fellow Indian Mantu Kumar in a thrilling final: 21-7, 9-21, 21-9. After a brief stumble in the second game, Bhagat returned with renewed focus and tactical precision to seal the match in three games.
He followed it up by teaming with Sukant Kadam to bag the men’s doubles title, overcoming Peru’s Gerson Jair Vargas Lostaunaul and Diana Rojas Golac in straight sets, 21-13, 21-17, with powerful rallies and seamless coordination.

Bhagat’s third gold came in the mixed doubles SL3-SU5 category, where he partnered with Arati Patil to secure another clinical win, rounding off a perfect tournament for the veteran shuttler.
“Every victory motivates me to push my limits further,” Bhagat said after his triple-gold performance. “Competing at this level and bringing glory to India is always special. I’m proud of the hard work and the support team behind these wins.”
Sukant Kadam, who shared the men’s doubles podium with Bhagat, echoed the sentiment:
“Playing alongside Pramod always pushes me to bring my best game. Our understanding on court has grown with every match, and this win gives us great confidence for the season ahead.”
