Bengaluru, Oct 3: Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1, the prequel to his National Award-winning hit Kantara, released in theatres on October 2 and has created waves with Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh lending his voice for the Hindi version of the Rebel Song, Bole Re Kantara.

Sharing how the collaboration happened, Shetty said he had long wanted to work with Diljit. “During post-production in Kochi, we wanted a singer from outside Karnataka. Suddenly, Diljit came to mind, though at first I couldn’t recall his name. Once I did, I told my team that his strong voice would be the perfect fit. They were all excited,” Rishab recalled in an interview.

What followed left him amazed. “When I contacted his manager, I was told Diljit cancelled his shows, took his team and rewatched Kantara. Within a few days, he came to YRF and recorded the song. After that, he told me privately that he deeply connected with the film. Woh bhi mere jaise bahot bade Shiv bhakt hai. It felt like divine energy brought us together,” he said.

A week earlier, Diljit had also shared his emotions in an Instagram post, calling Kantara a masterpiece. “I have a personal connection with this film which I can’t reveal. But when I watched it in theatres, during Varaha Roopam, I cried in ecstasy,” he wrote while posting a video of his recording session with Rishab.

The collaboration between Shetty and Dosanjh has added a powerful dimension to Kantara Chapter 1, raising excitement among fans nationwide.
