California, Sep 30: Southern California witnessed a dazzling spectacle on Sunday night as SpaceX launched its Falcon 9 rocket carrying 28 Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit, further strengthening its global internet constellation.

The rocket lifted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base at 10:04 pm EDT (7:04 pm PDT) and blazed across the night sky, reaching space within minutes. About an hour later, the upper stage deployed the Starlink Group 11-20 satellites, a mission SpaceX confirmed as successful.

Falcon 9’s first-stage booster, numbered 1063, executed a precision landing on the droneship Of Course I Still Love You stationed in the Pacific Ocean—marking its 28th flight, a testament to SpaceX’s reusability milestone.

With this mission, Starlink’s active satellite count has climbed to around 8,500, expanding high-speed, low-latency internet service to rural and underserved regions worldwide. The launch also marked SpaceX’s 124th Falcon 9 flight of the year and the 542nd Falcon 9 mission since the program’s debut in 2010, underscoring the company’s rapid cadence and growing influence in global connectivity.
