New Delhi, Sep 24: Despite intense competition and standout performances at the Asia Cup, India’s Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy have managed to hold on to their No. 1 spots in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings for batters and bowlers, respectively.

Chakravarthy, though wicketless in the Super Fours clash against Pakistan, delivered a crucial economical spell of 0/25, helping to restrict the opposition and earning a 14-point ratings boost to solidify his lead at the top of the bowling charts.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma impressed with a match-winning 74 in the chase of Pakistan’s 171-run target on Sunday, following up on a quick 38 against Oman earlier in the group stage. His consistent power-hitting has kept him firmly at the top of the T20I batting rankings.

India’s Tilak Varma also climbed to No. 3 among T20I batters after his composed 30 off 19 balls* helped seal the victory over Pakistan.

In the bowling department, Hardik Pandya moved up six places to 60th, in addition to maintaining his top position in the T20I all-rounder rankings.

Other Major Movers in the T20I Rankings:

• Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed made a big impact, climbing 12 spots to 4th in the bowlers’ rankings. His economical spells — 1/8 against Sri Lanka and 2/13 against UAE — were pivotal, even though he struggled slightly against India (1/42).
• Mustafizur Rahman of Bangladesh bounced back into the top 10, moving up six spots after claiming six wickets at an average of 8 across two matches.
• Haris Rauf (Pakistan) rose nine places to 28th, showing continued pace and accuracy.

Big Gains in Batting:

• Sahibzada Farhan surged 31 places to 24th after a fluent 58 off 45 balls against India.
• Hussain Talat made one of the biggest jumps in rankings history, leaping 1,474 places to joint 234th following his match-winning knock vs Sri Lanka.
• Saif Hassan (Bangladesh) rose 133 places to 81st with a commanding 61-run innings in the Super Fours.

All-Rounder Rankings Highlights:

• Faheem Ashraf (Pakistan) climbed 12 spots to joint 39th, rewarded for his tight spells and lower-order contributions.
• Wanindu Hasaranga (Sri Lanka) rose to 7th place, courtesy of a four-wicket haul across his last two appearances.

The latest updates from the Asia Cup have significantly reshaped the T20I rankings, but India’s star performers — Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy — continue to set the standard at the top as the race tightens ahead of upcoming international fixtures.
