Mumbai, Sep 23: Kaun Banega Crorepati returned for its 17th season on August 11, and continues to captivate viewers with trivia, contestant stories, and Amitabh Bachchan’s signature charm. In the September 22 episode, Pune resident Pallavi Niphadkar took the hot seat, answering 11 questions correctly to win Rs 7.5 lac before quitting on the 12th question, valued at Rs 12.5 lac.

The special Navratri episode saw Pallavi accompanied by her two daughters. During a conversation with Big B, she admitted that sitting opposite the Bollywood superstar often makes contestants forget answers. Amitabh Bachchan recalled his own experience on the hot seat when his wife, veteran actress Jaya Bachchan, hosted him, admitting he was left speechless and tongue-tied.

The 12th question was, “What is the name of India's second nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine?” The options were: A. INS Arighat, B. INS Arihant, C. INS Aridaman, and D. INS Ariash. The correct answer is INS Arighat, the second indigenously developed nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine after INS Arihant. Launched in 2017 under the Advanced Technology Vessel (ATV) project, INS Arighat is equipped with nuclear-tipped ballistic missiles and plays a critical role in India’s nuclear defence. The name derives from Sanskrit, with “Ari” meaning enemy and “Ghat” meaning destroyer.

Pallavi revealed that she plans to use her winnings to repay a Rs 50 lac loan taken by her husband for her hospitalisation during fertility treatments.
