Media Release
Mangaluru, Aug 26: Centre for Advanced Learning (CFAL) is proud to announce that 30 talented and deserving students from various government and aided PU colleges of Mangaluru have been admitted this year into its flagship Pragathi Program, a free coaching initiative designed to help bright young minds pursue their JEE and NEET dreams.
Since its inception, the Pragathi Program has transformed over 120 lives by offering high-quality, fully sponsored coaching for competitive exams to meritorious students from families with limited financial resources. Building on this legacy, 2025 marks another meaningful milestone, with 30 young scholars embarking on this journey toward their aspirations.
“Dreams aren’t bound by zip codes or bank balances,” shares CFAL trustee, Vijay Moras. In recognition of its impact, the Pragathi initiative has earned praise from the chief minister’s office and has even been included in the chief minister’s annual book on Best Governance Practices[U1] in 2022.
How the program works
- This year, 712 students from 10 government and aided PU colleges in Mangalore wrote the Pragathi entrance exam.
- From this, 100 students were shortlisted for the second round where they submitted a statement of purpose (SOP).
- After careful evaluation, 30 students were selected, and their economic backgrounds were verified before being welcomed into the Pragathi Program 2025–2027.
- Selected students now receive 100% funded coaching: online and offline for JEE, NEET, and KCET without any cost to the family
Why it matters
Education is the strongest ladder to opportunity. For families facing financial challenges, access to high-quality exam coaching can mean the difference between unfulfilled potential and transformed futures. CFAL’s Pragathi Program ensures that talent and determination are never held back by circumstance.
Student voices & real impact
The program’s impact is best captured through its scholars. One such story is that of Ms. Ashel Pais, a rural student from Dakshina Kannada who, after receiving a 100% scholarship through Pragathi went on to achieve remarkable success in NEET.
Expand the circle of support
Now more than ever, the community’s role is vital. Parents, alumni, and well-wishers are invited to join CFAL in expanding this impactful program through sponsorship, mentorship or advocacy, to help even more students access these life-changing opportunities.
About CFAL
Over its 15-year journey, CFAL has been steadfast in its mission to make world-class coaching accessible to all, irrespective of financial means. The Pragathi Program exemplifies this commitment, standing as a powerful testament to CFAL’s belief that when deserving students are supported, they uplift not only themselves but the entire community.
