Mangaluru, Aug 26: When children are happy, the entire family is filled with joy, positivity, and peace. But when a child falls ill, parents are left anxious and siblings too become sad. Such is the situation faced by James and Sharmila residing at Bela parish, whose 1-year-10-month-old daughter, Baby Siona Victor, is suffering from a severe health condition.
Initially, Siona had normal hearing, but gradually she began losing it. After several medical consultations and specialized check-ups, doctors diagnosed her with bilateral profound hearing loss. Hearing aids have brought no improvement, and specialists have strongly recommended a cochlear implant surgery, followed by auditory verbal therapy.

The total cost of the treatment is estimated at Rs 10 lac.
James, the father, works as a cable TV operator on daily wages, while Sharmila is a homemaker. They also have two other school-going children. The family is already struggling to meet their daily expenses, and the additional burden of Siona’s treatment has made their life extremely difficult.
The couple has now appealed with folded hands, seeking support from kind-hearted individuals. Your contribution can help little Siona get a new life filled with sounds, words, and laughter.
