Mangaluru: City corporation in slumber – Auto driver steps in to do their job

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Aug 19: While the city corporation continues to remain indifferent, ordinary citizens are stepping forward for the betterment of society, drawing appreciation from the public. In one such instance, an autorickshaw driver, Bubanna, has set an example near Karavali Circle.

Taking up a responsibility that ideally should have been handled by the government or the city corporation, Bubanna, who earns his livelihood through daily wages, filled potholes on the road at Karavali Circle on his own.

His action has won the admiration of locals, who lauded his humanitarian gesture.

This is not the first time Bubanna has stepped in. Even last year he carried out a similar task, and once again he has taken up the work this year, despite the problem persisting. Residents expressed disappointment that the civic body has failed to address the recurring issue and urged the corporation to finally wake up and respond to the grievances of the public.
