Kadaba: Savanoor hit by fierce storm; arecanut plantations, power lines damaged

Kadaba, Aug 19: A severe storm that struck Savanoor and surrounding areas of Kadaba taluk at around 5 am on August 19 caused extensive damage, amounting to lakhs of rupees.

In the MESCOM sub-division of Savanoor village, areas including Kedenji, Areltadi, Kudmanamajalu Patte Madake, and Anyadi in Kudmaru village witnessed trees being uprooted and several electricity poles broken, disrupting power supply.

The storm also caused damage in Areltadi Koragajja Katte and temple surroundings, affecting several residential houses, arecanut plantations, coconut trees, and other properties. The estimated loss is said to be in lacs.
