Mangaluru, Aug 18: For the convenience of its customers, the Kulshekar branch of MCC Bank was shifted to its newly owned premises on the lower ground floor of Spectrum Business Centre, Kalpane, Kulshekar, on Sunday August 17.
The new premises were inaugurated by the chairman of MCC Bank, Sahakara Ratna Anil Lobo. The programme began with lighting of the lamp by Fr Stifan Pereira, OCD, director of Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakatte, Mangaluru. Fr Clifford Fernandes, parish priest of Holy Cross Church, Cordel, blessed the new premises.



















The safe room was inaugurated by the chief guest, Sr Flossy Menezes, procurator of the congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany. The ATM facility was inaugurated by Corriene Rasquinha, founder and president of White Doves, Mangaluru. The first ATM withdrawal was made by Praveen Patrao, proprietor of Prasad Printers, Mangaluru.
M P Noronha, principal district government pleader, Dakshina Kannada district and former chairman of MCC Bank, Valentine Dsilva, former chairman of MCC Bank, Vincent Cutinha, managing director of Provit Foods Pvt Ltd (Ideal Chicken), Ruth Castelino, vice president of parish council, Holy Cross Church, Cordel, were the guests of honour. General manager Sunil Menezes and branch manager Wilma Jyothi Sequeira were on the dais.
The stage programme was presided over by the chairman, Sahakara Ratna Anil Lobo. In his presidential address, he thanked the customers for their unwavering support and cooperation over the last 31 years. He called upon them to continue supporting the bank, which has a glorious history of 113 years, so that more employment opportunities can be created alongside the bank’s progress. He expressed gratitude to Valentine D’Silva, former chairman of MCC Bank, for his visionary leadership and for introducing MCC Bank to Kulshekar in 1994.
He emphasized that the support, trust, and confidence of the members, customers, and board of directors, along with the hard work of the staff, have enabled him to lead the bank to greater heights. He further informed that the bank has been conducting various public and charitable programmes, as it recognizes its responsibility towards society. Outlining the bank’s future plans, he announced the proposed expansion with new branches at Santhekatte and Deralakatte and sought continued support and cooperation from the customers.
Fr Stifan Pereira, in his address, congratulated the chairman, his team, and all stakeholders for shifting the branch to a new location designed for customer convenience with ample parking facilities. He highlighted that the bank has crossed a turnover of Rs 1300 crore and has earned the trust of its customers by blending customer service with modern technology. He wished success to the Kulshekar branch and expressed hope that the bank would flourish in all aspects of banking. He remarked that MCC Bank is not just a financial institution but a symbol of modernization, commitment, and creativity in delivering excellent customer service and achieving steady growth.
Fr Clifford Fernandes, while addressing the gathering, stressed that the principles of discipline, a positive mindset, hard work, and creativity always yield positive results. He encouraged youngsters to work diligently, explore start-ups with the support of MCC Bank, and not depend solely on a single source of income.
Valentine D’Silva, in his address, congratulated the bank for shifting the Kulshekar branch to a customer-friendly ambience and appreciated the progress of the bank under the leadership of Anil Lobo, chairman of the bank. He recalled his efforts in establishing the branch in Kulshekar and expressed happiness that several staff members appointed during his tenure now hold high positions in MCC Bank.
On this occasion, M P Noronha was felicitated on his appointment as the principal district government pleader, Dakshina Kannada district, by the government of Karnataka. In his address, he congratulated the management for transforming the face of the bank with modern technology and excellent customer service. He urged the staff to remain confident and future-ready in the evolving banking industry.
As part of the celebration, children of customers who secured above 90% marks in academics were honoured. Social service institutions, Ave Maria Palliative Care, Sanidhya, White Doves, and Riya Foundation were felicitated with a cheque of Rs 50,000 each from the bank’s charity fund. Young achievers Vencita Dias, VJ Dixon, Sapna Crasta, and Sonal Monteiro were also honoured, along with rank holders from among customers’ children.
The bank extended its gratitude by felicitating the landlord of the old premises, Francis X G Cutinha, the builder of the new premises, Avalon Patrao; Ajith Kumar; and architect Deepak D’Souza.
Directors Elroy Kiran Crasto, Joseph Anil Patrao, J P Rodrigues, Roshan D’Souza, Herald John Monteiro, David D’Souza, Melwyn Vas, Sushanth Saldanha, Felix D’Cruz, C G Pinto, Sharmila Menezes and Alwyn P Monteiro were present on the occasion.
The event commenced with a prayer song led by Alwyn D’Souza and team. Irene Rebello, branch support director, welcomed the gathering. Aloysius D’Souza compered the programme.
