Puttur, Aug 17: In a swift crackdown, Puttur Rural police have apprehended a suspect in connection with a house burglary case involving the theft of nearly 30 grams of gold and Rs 5,000 cash on August 12.
The case, registered under crime No. 83/2025 as per section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, led to the arrest of 29-year-old Dayanand Naik M, a resident of Nettanige Muduru village. Police arrested him at Eshwaramangala, Puttur, recovering 30.120 grams of gold and the Discovery bike allegedly used during the crime.

Speaking on the operation, deputy superintendent of police Arun Nagegowda said, “The team worked meticulously under close supervision to ensure swift justice.” Inspector Ravi B S. added, “Recovery of the stolen property and arrest of the accused demonstrates the police’s commitment to public safety.”
The successful operation was led by sub-inspector Jamburaj Mahajan, supported by a dedicated team comprising ASI Chandrashekar, head constables Praveen, Madhu, Harish, Subrahmanya, police constables Akash, Yuvaraj, Sharanappa Patil, and drivers Yajna, Hariprasad, and Nitesh.
Investigations are ongoing as police continue efforts to bring all culprits to book.
