Beltangady: Ganja case accused arrested after evading police for long

Beltangady, Aug 14: An accused who had been absconding for a long time in connection with an illegal ganja possession and sale case was arrested by Beltangady police in Karkala on August 14. He was produced before the Beltangady court, which remanded him to judicial custody.

The arrested accused has been identified as Mohammad Rafiq alias Maddadka Rafiq (39), a resident of Kuvettu village in Beltangady taluk.

A team led by Beltangady police station inspector Subbapur Math succeeded in apprehending the accused.

Rafiq already faces multiple ganja-related cases registered at Beltangady police station, Venoor police station, Chikkamagaluru CEN police station, Banakal police station, Dakshina Kannada district CEN police station, Bantwal excise station, and Beltangady excise station.
