Mangaluru: Scooter mishap claims in Someshwar kills electrical contractor

Mangaluru, Aug 13: A scooter skidded and crashed into the compound wall of a roadside house, killing the rider in a tragic accident at Ambika Road under Someshwar Town Municipal limits on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Raghavendra Salyan (44), also known as Raghu, a resident near Mahalakshmi Temple, Pilaru. He was working as an electrical contractor with a private company.

The accident occurred near Nirmala Travels garage on Ambika Road while Raghavendra was returning home after work. Due to a delay in the arrival of the ambulance, local youths rushed him to a private hospital in Deralakatte in an autorickshaw, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way.

Mangaluru South Traffic Police visited the spot, conducted an inspection, and registered a case.

Raghavendra is survived by his mother, wife, and son.
