Srinivas University's Institute of Aviation Studies organises essay writing contest

Mangaluru, Aug 12: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, organized an Essay Writing Contest on August 7, as part of an anti-drug awareness initiative by the Anti-drug Committee in collaboration with the Management Forum. A total of 201 students from BBA Aviation Management, BBA Aviation and Logistics Management, and BBA Aviation Travel and Tourism Management programmes enthusiastically took part in the competition. The event was conducted under the leadership and guidance of Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean of the institute, Anjana T V, head of department and event coordinator, along with the other faculties.

The theme of the competition was “Saying No to Drugs; Is Saying Yes to Life.” The event aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to inspire students to adopt a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The contest encouraged participants to reflect on the importance of making positive life choices and living with purpose.

In the first-year category, Mashshooma from first year BBA Aviation Management won first place, while the runner-up positions went to Manjo K S from first year BBA Aviation Management and Haifa Mariyam from first year BBA Aviation & Logistics Management. In the second and final-year category, Vandana Variyar from second year BBA Aviation & Logistics Management secured first place, and Meenakshi Rajeev from second year BBA Aviation Management was the runner-up. The contest not only showcased the students’ writing skills and awareness of social issues but also reflected the institute’s commitment to promoting social responsibility and moral values among the youth.
