Udupi, Aug 7: St Mary's English Medium School, Kannarpady, Udupi, arranged an industrial visit for the senior secondary students on August 5, to DK Co-operative Milk Producers Union Limited, KMF unit, Upoor, Brahmavar.
The visit was a part of academic curriculum aiming to provide students with practical exposure to industries that contribute significantly to the nation’s economy, and also as a part of a project of entrepreneurship.
As many as 52 Students of Grade 11 and 12 accompanied by 6 teaching staff visited Nandini KMF unit which is one of the most respected names in the milk products field.











Rakshith, deputy manager and Dinesh, technical manager guided students about the whole unit, explained the processes that takes place in this KMF unit and also showed them each and every department like production unit, incubation unit, the cold storage and packaging process.
The commerce students got to know more about raw materials, human resources management, marketing and finance management.
The science students got more information about the manufacturing steps, role of micro-organisms and the whole process of packaging.
Towards the end, each and every query of the students was answered by the persons concerned of the unit. They also explained about their marketing strategy, new products and the history of the company. Students were provided with complimentary refreshment towards the end. Principal Fr Vijay Joyson D'Souza and vice principal Rita Quadros took initiative in providing this enriching experience to the students.
