Manchester, Jul 25: Team India faced a moment of concern on day 3 of the fourth Test against England as star pacer Jasprit Bumrah limped off the field after bowling just one over with the second new ball in the post-lunch session.

Bumrah was seen heading to the dressing room, leaving fans and teammates anxious about a possible injury. Former coach Ravi Shastri, commentating on the match, revealed that Bumrah had twisted his left ankle while walking down the stairs. “He’s shaking his head. That’s the left ankle – he twisted it coming down the stairs,” Shastri said.

Adding to the speculation, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting noted a change in Bumrah’s boots. “He had on a pair of blue and white boots, different from what he usually wears. He definitely didn’t look comfortable, and that’s his landing foot,” Ponting observed.

Bumrah was later spotted sitting near the boundary line with teammates. Shastri further informed viewers that Bumrah would not be allowed to bowl until after the Tea break, a development that pushed India to turn to spin options like Washington Sundar.
In a relief to Indian supporters, Bumrah returned to the field post-Tea and bowled a few overs, indicating the injury was not serious.

Earlier in the match, India faced another blow when Rishabh Pant was struck on the foot by a delivery from Chris Woakes. Though Pant went on to score a gritty half-century, he was ruled out of wicket-keeping duties. Dhruv Jurel took over the gloves for the remainder of the innings.
