Mumbai, Aug 25: BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut has hit back at celebrities and public figures who have criticised her in the past, taking pointed digs at Ashutosh Rana, Sonu Sood, Rakhi Sawant, Taapsee Pannu and yoga guru Baba Ramdev.
Kangana questioned the achievements of her critics and said she would prefer to take advice from people who have accomplished more than she has.
“I see such people every day, whether it is Ashutosh Rana, who says that I bark like a dog, or Sonu Sood, who says that I should learn how to behave. People like Rakhi Sawant, who make all kinds of vulgar comments about my character, and Taapsee Pannu, who keep insulting my parents, my upbringing and my background,” Kangana said.
“My only message to these people is that if you have not achieved even one per cent of the success I have achieved in life, I will not listen to any advice from you,” she added.
Kangana also referred to Baba Ramdev and Ashutosh Rana, alleging that they were seeking publicity by criticising her. She dismissed their advice, referring to them as “bhookhe, nange log” (famished and destitute people), while saying she would rather listen to people who had achieved greater success.
Her latest comments come amid a series of public exchanges with Ashutosh Rana and Sonu Sood following her remarks about Gen Z protesters. Kangana had referred to the protesting generation as “Generation Gutter”, prompting Ashutosh Rana to urge public figures to exercise caution while choosing their words.
Sonu Sood criticised the remarks as “shameful” and said people should think before speaking. Rakhi Sawant also criticised Kangana's comments about young women and Gen Z, questioned her statements and brought up the 2024 airport slap incident involving the actor-turned-politician.
Kangana and Taapsee Pannu have had a long-running public rivalry. Their dispute began in 2019 after Kangana's sister Rangoli Chandel accused Taapsee of copying Kangana and described her as a “sasti copy”.
The controversy followed Taapsee's praise for the trailer of Judgementall Hai Kya, without specifically mentioning Kangana. Taapsee later refused to engage in prolonged public mudslinging and said she had no interest in continuing personal comparisons.
The disagreement resurfaced in 2020 during heated discussions about nepotism and insider privilege in Bollywood. Kangana had then referred to Taapsee and Swara Bhasker as “B-grade” actors and “needy outsiders”.
Taapsee responded by saying outsiders should support one another rather than target each other, and that her focus was on improving the industry rather than engaging in personal feuds.
Kangana, known for her outspoken views and frequent criticism of fellow public figures, also recently targeted actor Kriti Sanon's Raksha Bandhan advertisement.
Reacting to the advertisement in an Instagram Story, Kangana questioned the decision to depict a woman tying a Rakhi while wearing a bikini. She argued that women today have a wide range of clothing choices and described the advertisement's presentation as “intentionally creepy”.
Meanwhile, Kangana was last seen in Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata (2026), written and directed by Manoj Tapadia.
She is also set to reunite with her Thalaivii (2021) director A.L. Vijay for an upcoming pan-India psychological thriller. The film will also feature her Tanu Weds Manu series co-star R Madhavan.
