Mangaluru, Jul 8: As part of the Vanamahotsava Week 2025 celebrations, Lourdes Central School conducted a series of eco-themed competitions across various classes on July 7, encouraging students to creatively engage in environmental conservation.
Various competitions were conducted during the CTP period, centered on the theme ‘Let’s Join for a Greener Future'.
Students of class I participated in a fun and creative leaf printing activity. Using leaves of different shapes and sizes, the young learners explored patterns and textures by dipping them in paint and printing them on paper.













































The young artists of class ii participated in the drawing competition with great enthusiasm and joy. They used bright colors and creative ideas to showcase their understanding of nature. Some students drew lush green forests, while others depicted trees giving shelter to birds and animals.
Class III students participated in collage making. The aim was to raise knowledge about the Vanamahotsava festival and engage students in a creative way.
A bookmark making competition was held for classes IV highlighting the importance of trees and forests. Students crafted artistic bookmarks, which now serve as daily reminders to protect nature.
A painting competition held for class V, allowed the students to express their thoughts on environmental conservation through vibrant and imaginative artwork.
Class VI students showcased their creativity in a collage making competition. Using eco-friendly materials like newspapers, leaves, and magazine cut-outs, they expressed their concern and commitment towards saving trees.
Class VII students enthusiastically participated in ‘Wealth Out Of Waste’. Students used eco-friendly materials to create original, useful items from waste within the given time limit. The classrooms came alive with color and innovation as students crafted items like planters, pen holders, and home decor using discarded materials.
Class VIII students took part in poster making competition. The posters featured powerful slogans, meaningful images, and strong messages. The main objective of the competition was to increase awareness about the significance of trees, forests, and environmental conservation.
The competitions were judged based on the criteria, neatness, creativity, presentation and message. These activities inspired students to value nature and take small yet impactful steps toward a greener tomorrow.
The Vanamahotsava celebrations were a resounding success, fostering environmental responsibility and awareness in every young mind.
