Mangaluru, Jul 8: Carmel School, Kotekar, organized the kindergarten parents’ general body meeting on July 8 in the School Auditorium graced by the presence of the administrator Sr Julie Ann, principal Sr Pramila and coordinator Sr Ashwina.
The programme commenced with a prayer song led by the students, followed by a welcome dance that set a cheerful tone for the gathering.
Teacher Roshel extended a warm welcome, greeting all the parents and dignitaries present.

A significant highlight of the day was the inauguration of the newly developed Kindergarten Play Area, designed to foster holistic growth through play and recreation.
The school report was presented, providing a comprehensive overview of the academic year’s achievements and activities from kindergarten to grade 10 at Carmel School Kotekar.
The event also included the PTA selection for the year 2025-2026, encouraging active parent participation in the school’s progress.
Vinatha K, the esteemed resource person, addressed the gathering and shared valuable insights on positive parenting skills and practices. She highlighted that parents should avoid partiality between their children to nurture confidence and self-worth and refrain from arguing or fighting in their presence, as such behaviour negatively impacts their emotional well-being. She reminded parents never to speak negatively about teachers in order to instil respect and trust. She further stressed the importance of spending quality time with children, as they cherish parental attention the most, and encouraged parents to communicate daily about their experiences to strengthen their relational bond and understand their feelings. Finally, she emphasized the need to appreciate children’s efforts regularly, as consistent encouragement builds motivation and self-esteem.
The principal, Sr Pramila, shared a thoughtful message and offered a few valuable instructions to parents, encouraging collaborative efforts between home and school for the holistic development of every child.
The meeting concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by teacher Preema, expressing gratitude to all the parents, dignitaries, staff and students for their enthusiastic participation and support.
The event marked an important step in strengthening the bond between the school and parents, dedicated to nurturing happy, confident and responsible learners.
