New Delhi, Jun 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to embark on a two-day whirlwind tour across three Indian states starting Friday, unveiling a series of high-impact development projects and spearheading the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations from Visakhapatnam.
The tour will see PM Modi addressing public gatherings and inaugurating developmental schemes in Siwan (Bihar) and Bhubaneswar (Odisha) on the first day, followed by a grand yoga event on the beaches of Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) on Saturday.

At Siwan, Modi will launch the Vaishali–Deoria railway line, a project pegged at over Rs 400 crore, and introduce a new train service on the route. He will also flag off the Vande Bharat Express connecting Patliputra to Gorakhpur via Muzaffarpur and Bettiah, significantly improving north Bihar's rail connectivity.
As part of India’s global outreach, an advanced locomotive manufactured at Marhowra will be flagged off for export to the Republic of Guinea, showcasing India’s engineering strength under the “Make in India, Make for the World” vision.
In a big step towards environmental conservation, the Prime Minister will inaugurate six sewage treatment plants (STPs) under the Namami Gange Mission, worth more than Rs 1,800 crore.
Further, he will initiate water supply and power projects, and hand out the first instalment of PM Awas Yojana (Urban) to over 53,600 beneficiaries, including conducting a Grih Pravesh ceremony for 6,600 families who have received homes.
With Bihar set to go to polls, the BJP-JD(U) alliance is intensifying its outreach, especially with eye-catching public welfare schemes.
In Odisha, PM Modi will launch development projects worth a staggering Rs 18,600 crore, spanning rural infrastructure, drinking water supply, healthcare, irrigation, roads, highways and railways. Boudh district, historically lacking rail connectivity, will see its first-ever train service inaugurated during this visit.
Under the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) initiative, 100 electric buses will be launched to enhance eco-friendly urban mobility in Bhubaneswar.
Significantly, Modi will unveil Odisha’s Vision Document with a futuristic focus on 2036, marking Odisha’s centenary as the first linguistic state, and 2047, the centenary of India’s independence. He is also expected to felicitate women achievers from the state during the event.
This visit also coincides with the first anniversary of BJP forming government in Odisha, making the PM’s presence a symbolic assertion of the party’s commitment to state development.
On June 21, Modi will lead the nation in celebrating the 11th International Day of Yoga from Visakhapatnam’s picturesque beachfront, where nearly five lakh people are expected to join him in the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) session.
Themed “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, the event underlines the shared well-being of humans and the planet, echoing the philosophy of “Sarve Santu Niramaya”.
More than 3.5 lakh concurrent yoga events are slated to be held across India, complemented by digital competitions like Family Yoga and Yoga Unplugged, promoted on MyGov and MyBharat platforms.
Since its inception in 2015 after India’s proposal was adopted by the UN, Modi has led Yoga Day from global and national landmarks — including New York, Lucknow, Mysuru, and Srinagar — reaffirming India’s commitment to wellness and spiritual heritage.
With this multi-state tour, PM Modi not only continues his development agenda but also reaffirms India’s global and cultural leadership.
