Brahmavar, Jun 19: In a shocking incident of inhuman treatment, a factory owner allegedly punished a worker by forcing him to stand on one leg for an hour near the factory gate, accusing him of causing damage to the factory. The incident reportedly took place in Vandaru, Brahmavar taluk.

Praveen (29), a resident of Shiruru village, was employed as an electrician at Krishna Prasad Cash Factory in Vandaru. On the night of June 16, after completing his shift, he returned home. Around 12:30 am, he reportedly received a call from a supervisor named Suresh, informing him that there was no phase current at the factory.

The following morning, on June 17, Suresh allegedly called again, stating that the current problem persisted. In response, Praveen contacted the lineman for clarification and proceeded to the factory to inspect the issue.

Upon his arrival, HR officer Chandrashekhar reportedly stopped him at the gate, stating that the owner, Sampath Shetty, had instructed that Praveen should not be allowed inside. It is further alleged that Praveen’s mobile phone and bike were confiscated, and he was made to stand at the gate.

When Sampath Shetty arrived at the factory, he allegedly verbally abused Praveen, blamed him for diesel loss at the factory, and forced him to stand on one leg for an hour as punishment.

Shaken by the incident, Praveen was later taken to the Shankaranarayana Primary Health Centre by his uncle for medical treatment.

A case has been registered at the Shankaranarayana police station in connection with the incident.

What is this ? Such a inhumane behaviour. Please make the owner stand head down legs up. When we were young we had heard this as school punishment. Today schools also do not punish. Really sad to read these stories. Strict action must be taken .

How could it is his fault for loss of phase supply. It is from Mescom. Being an electrician, he can start working his own and earn for living, instead of that type of owners slavery type job. Good that media highlighted the issue. Human right dept please take up this case and book the guilty.
