Muniyal Institute hosts a free seminar, workshop on Yogic Management of Diabetes Mellitus

Udupi, Jun 17: As a precursor to the International Day of Yoga, the Muniyal Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy, in collaboration with the Ministry of AYUSH and CCRYN, Delhi, conducted a one-day free seminar and workshop on “Yogic Management of Diabetes Mellitus” at the auditorium, Muniyal Group of Institutions, Manipal.

The workshop was held from 8.30 am to 1 pm and attendees received valuable insights and hands-on training on managing diabetes through yoga.

The expert panel - Dr Shubhada, associate professor, Department of General Medicine, KMC Manipal, Dr Shivaprasad Shetty, dean of Yoga SDMCNYS Ujire and CMO of SDM Yoga and Nature Cure Hospital, Dharmasthala, Dr Vanitha Shetty, principal, Alva’s College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, Moodbidri and Dr Nandeesh, principal, Sharada Yoga and Naturopathy Medical College and Hospital, Talapady, Mangaluru, covered key topics such as myths and facts about diabetes, yoga therapy, stress management, and included practical yoga demonstrations.

The workshop highlighted the role of yoga in improving insulin sensitivity, reducing stress, and enhancing overall well-being. Organizers thanked participants for their enthusiastic response and emphasized yoga’s relevance in preventive and therapeutic healthcare.

The event was a significant step in promoting holistic health as part of the International Day of Yoga 2025 celebrations.

The event saw active participation from the public, students, and yoga practitioners.
