Mangaluru, Jun 13: 'The skill up, stand out crash course', organized by the management forum, department of BCom, was a dynamic and hands-on training initiative aimed at enhancing professional skills among students and aspiring professionals. This intensive program ran from May 7 to May 21 and saw the participation of 25 candidates, 15 from Srinivas University Mangalore and remaining 10 from across India – cities and states like Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Amalner, Jalgaon, Chennai, Bhusawal, and Andhra Pradesh. Candidates were from students working professionals, professor’s and others. This course customized to the requirements of candidates and through their fields.








The crash course brought in industry experts and thought leaders to deliver high-impactful online training sessions:
Vernon Mascarenhas, talent acquisition specialist at Kaizen Global Technologies, trained candidates on resume writing, cover letters, strategic networking, and interview scripts.
Preston Russel Sequeira, senior software engineer, team lead, public speaker, and brand builder, focused on first impressions, leveraging speech, posture, and body language for professional presence.
Prof Hansel Rego, upskiller trainer and management forum incharge, conducted detailed sessions on MS Excel – from basics to advanced, providing practical exposure tailored for working professionals.
Each participant received a hardcopy of the certificate of completion, as a token of achievement and readiness to step into the professional world with confidence.
This impactful training initiative was conducted under the able supervision of Dr Venkatesh S Amin, dean, Institute of Management and Commerce; Prof Sharmila S Shetty, head of department BCom; Prof Yashashwi A Ail, course coordinator, ACCA; and Prof Hansel Rego, faculty coordinator – management forum and upskiller trainer.
The course was successfully executed with the consistent support of the dedicated faculty members of the BCom department, whose teamwork and commitment ensured its smooth implementation and success.
This event not only equipped the participants with essential career tools but also strengthened the position of SUIMC as a hub for practical and transformative learning.
