Udupi, Jun 10: Kediyoor’s Lords International Residential School, promoted by the Kediyoor Educational Trust, marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its newly developed kindergarten block and other advanced facilities on the school premises on Monday, June 10. The occasion also coincided with the celebration of Founders’ Day.

The newly established kindergarten section was inaugurated by young Avyukth, son of treasurer Dr Bhavyashree Kediyoor. Designed to offer a child-friendly learning environment, the section is equipped with modern amenities and follows a play-based curriculum aimed at fostering creativity, skill development, and early academic growth.

The Credo Lab, developed especially for kindergarten and pre-primary children, provides a structured setting focused on experiential learning. It promotes cognitive, physical, and socio-emotional development through hands-on activities and age-appropriate educational materials.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, chairman Bhuvanendra Kediyoor said, “We began this institution with the aim of providing quality education to the community. With God’s grace, our admissions have grown to 115 this year. A school doesn’t reach full strength overnight; it grows year by year through its programs, teaching standards, and dedication. Our location within the city is a major advantage.”

Principal Myrtle L F Lewis welcomed the gathering and said, “Today, as we inaugurate these new facilities on the birthday of our founder Bhuvanendra Kediyoor, we are not just marking a date but celebrating the life and vision of a person whose passion and commitment laid the very foundation of this institution. The increasing student strength is testimony to the power of one man’s dream backed by conviction and hard work.”

Several key facilities were inaugurated during the event, each aimed at enhancing the learning environment and aligning with the goals of the National Education Policy.

A special puja was held at the Nagabhana within the campus, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony with kindergarten students to celebrate the chairman’s birthday.

The computer lab, a step towards digital excellence, was inaugurated by chairman Bhuvanendra Kediyoor. It is designed to equip students with essential digital literacy and technological skills for their overall development.

The science laboratory, inaugurated by CA Sandesh Shetty, offers students a space for hands-on experiments and practical scientific learning, enriching their academic journey.

Treasurer Dr Bhavyashree B Kediyoor inaugurated the new library, envisioned as a centre for knowledge enhancement. It aims to nurture a love for reading and support students’ academic and personal growth through a wide range of learning resources.

A new cafeteria and cooking area was also inaugurated by chairman Bhuvanendra Kediyoor, introducing facilities that promote nutritional awareness and healthy eating habits.

Students celebrated the chairman’s birthday with a colourful dance performance, while teachers extended their wishes through a melodious group song and presented a bouquet to the chairman. The formal programme began with a prayer song by the school choir.

Vice principal Roopa Ashok Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.

The event was attended by trustee Dr Abhin Shriyan, students, parents, and members of the teaching and non-teaching staff, making it a memorable day in the school’s journey.
