Mount Rosary School hosts enrichment workshop to empower teachers in digital era

Media Release

Udupi, May 30: "Times have changed, and modernisation has accelerated. Today's students are highly engaged with technology, but their reverence for teachers has declined. In this changing era, teachers must not remain like frogs in a well; instead, they should flow like a river," said national-level trainer and orator Rajendra Bhat.

He was addressing the teachers of Mount Rosary English Medium School during a staff enrichment workshop, where he served as the resource person. Stressing the importance of adapting to current trends, Bhat encouraged teachers to effectively use artificial intelligence and visual media to make lessons more engaging. "We must change first if we expect our students to change," he emphasised.

Presiding over the inaugural ceremony, School correspondent Fr Dr Roque D’Souza remarked, "Today’s students do not merely listen and study; they learn by observing. They notice teachers' behaviour and the dynamics among colleagues. Hence, teachers should not just guide students—they must become role models."

The workshop began with a welcome address by headmistress Sr Ancilla, while senior teacher Alwyn Danthy introduced the guest. The session was anchored by teacher Presilla, Nancy D’Souza shared her reflections, and Sujatha delivered the vote of thanks.
