Major IPS reshuffle: Changes in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada police leadership

Mangaluru/Udupi, May 29: In a significant reshuffle of IPS officers, the state government has announced major changes in the police leadership of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts.

Udupi superintendent of police Dr Arun K has been transferred and posted as the new superintendent of police for Dakshina Kannada district.


Top: Sudheerkumar Reddy, Hariram Shankar; Bottom: Anupam Agarwal, Dr Arun K 

Hariram Shankar will take charge as the new superintendent of police in Udupi district.

Meanwhile, Mangaluru city police commissioner Anupam Agrawal has been transferred to the post of deputy inspector general of police, economic offences.

Sudheerkumar Reddy will take over as the deputy inspector general and new police commissioner of Mangaluru city.

    Enough innocent lives have been lost for no reason. That’s why South Kanara and Udupi districts need strict and tough-minded police officers. Until all illegal businesses, illegal sand trade, drug dealings, and underground activities are shut down, the crime rate here will continue to rise.
