Bagalkote, May 24: In a remarkable and heart-warming incident that has gone viral, a monkey in pain walked into a veterinary hospital in Bagalkote district, gestured its injury to the doctor using hand signals, received treatment, and left peacefully. The event has amazed locals and social media users alike.
The unusual incident occurred at the SC Veterinary Hospital in Gudur of Ilkal taluk. The monkey, reportedly suffering from severe pain near its anal region, entered the hospital on its own and pointed toward the affected area using hand gestures—signalling the source of its discomfort to the veterinarian.

Dr Jiji Billore, the veterinary inspector who treated the monkey, said, “It was truly astonishing to see a monkey walk into a hospital and express its pain through gestures. We immediately began treatment for the condition affecting its anal area.”
After receiving the necessary medical attention, the monkey left the hospital in a relaxed and calm manner, according to the attending staff. The incident has sparked widespread admiration for the monkey’s intelligence and the quick response of the veterinary staff.
Locals have hailed the monkey's behaviour as an example of incredible animal intelligence, and Dr Billore's timely action has been widely appreciated.
