Kundapur police inspector Nanjappa passes away while in service

Kundapur, May 22: Inspector Nanjappa N (59) of Kundapu police station passed away on Wednesday May 21.

Originally from Bhadravathi in Shivamogga district, Nanjappa had been serving as the inspector at Kundapura police station since August of last year. On Monday, while on duty, he experienced health complications due to high blood pressure and was admitted to a private hospital in Udupi for treatment. Despite two days of medical care, there was no significant improvement in his condition, and he passed away on Wednesday night.

Nanjappa joined the police force in 2003 as a sub-inspector and served in various locations including Shivamogga, Davanagere, and Haveri. After being promoted to Inspector, he served for four years in places such as Kadur, Bhadravathi, and the Gangolli Coastal Security Force before being appointed as the Inspector of Kundapura Police Station in August 2024.

The district superintendent of police, senior officers, and staff have expressed their condolences over the demise of inspector Nanjappa.

The police have informed that the public can pay their last respects to inspector Nanjappa in front of the Kundapur police station on Thursday, May 22, at 10:15 AM.
