Kasargod, May 20: A six-year-old boy was rescued by fire and emergency services personnel after his leg got caught in a bicycle chain in Thalangara near Kasargod on May 19 evening.
The child was riding a bicycle when his leg got entangled in the chain, causing him immense pain. Hearing his cries, family members and local residents rushed to the spot and tried to free him but were unsuccessful.

The Kasargod fire and emergency services department was alerted. A team led by officer V N Gopalan arrived at the scene and used a cutter to break the chain and safely rescue the boy.
The child sustained injuries to his leg and has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
