Beltangady, May 19: The mysterious death of Akanksha (22), an aerospace employee and daughter of Surendra and Sindhudevi of Boliyar in Dharmasthala village, has taken a new turn.

Akanksha, who had gone to collect her certificate from Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Phagwara, Punjab, allegedly died by suicide after jumping from a floor of the college building. Police have registered a case in this regard.

She had reportedly gone to meet a professor of Kerala origin at the college, and a quarrel is said to have taken place between the two. Following this, she allegedly took the extreme step, police said.

Based on a complaint filed by her brother Akarsh Nair, a case has been registered against the professor. The post-mortem is expected to be conducted today, after which the body will be brought to her native place.
