Bantwal: KSRTC bus rams into scooter while overtaking, rider killed

Bantwal, May 19: A KSRTC bus rammed into a scooter while overtaking another vehicle at high speed, resulting in the death of the scooter rider in an accident reported late May 18 night at Nehru Nagar, Panemangalore.

The deceased has been identified as Alister D’Souza (24), a resident of Mangaluru. The incident occurred while he was returning to Mangaluru with friends on another bike after attending a housewarming ceremony in Vittal.

The KSRTC Ambaari bus, which was heading from Mangaluru to Bengaluru, hit the scooter while attempting to overtake a Tempo Traveller at Nehru Nagar.

A case has been registered at Bantwal traffic police station.

    Rest in peace Brother. So many incidents happening every day still it's not under control. Some conductors and drivers are holding licence to kill people and not to drive vehicle safely. Over taking really needed to reach early? It's a big stupidity act of killing.
