Mumbai, May 12: Veteran actor Nassar was reportedly brought to tears after hearing the script of Tanvi The Great, the much-anticipated directorial venture by Anupam Kher. The powerful emotional depth of the story left a lasting impression on the acclaimed Baahubali actor, signaling just how profound and moving the film is expected to be.

Anupam Kher shared the touching moment in a heartfelt social media post, unveiling the first-look poster of Nassar as Brigadier Rao, a pivotal role in the film. Kher revealed that he had always imagined Nassar in this role and was deeply touched when the actor agreed to take it on without even reading the script in advance.

“Even though #NasserSir is younger than me, his legendary career commands respect,” Kher wrote. “His filmography—from Thevar Magan to Bahubali—is a masterclass in acting. But it’s his humility and generosity that truly make him a towering figure.”

Recalling their first day of filming, Kher shared how Nassar’s reaction upon hearing the full script was deeply emotional. “He had tears in his eyes. I had my character come alive on set,” he wrote. “Thank you, Nasser Sir, for your brilliance, kindness, and an unforgettable performance. Your support to Shubhangi during the shoot meant the world.”

The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast that includes Iain Glen, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, and Pallavi Joshi, with newcomer Shubhangi playing the titular role. Tanvi The Great is being produced by Kher Studios and NFDC in collaboration with the Lower Middle Class Corporation, with music by Oscar-winning composer M.M. Keeravani.

While the official release date is yet to be announced, expectations for Tanvi The Great are already sky-high, fueled by heartfelt moments and powerful storytelling behind the scenes.
