Bengaluru, May 9: The ComedK Undergraduate Entrance Test 2025, originally scheduled for May 10, has been postponed in 12 cities due to government directives linked to Operation Sindoor, the ongoing national security operation.

According to a statement from ComedK authorities, the postponement affects test centres in the following locations:

  • Gujarat: Jamnagar (Test City Code: 26428)

  • Jammu & Kashmir: Srinagar (14126), Jammu (7994)

  • Punjab: Ludhiana (14458), Bathinda (1686), Jalandhar (2288), Mohali (38190), Patiala (8756), Amritsar (8799)

  • Rajasthan: Jodhpur (16596), Bikaner (8665), Sriganganagar (28906)

These cities were expected to host around 3,000 candidates for the entrance test.

In line with central directives, educational institutions in these regions have been instructed to shut temporarily. Revised dates for the affected centres will be announced shortly. The decision was made with consideration for safety and administrative requirements linked to the national operation.

"Candidates assigned to centres in these cities are advised not to panic. All candidates are requested to regularly check the official website www.comedk.org and www.unigauge.com for further updates and instructions,” the official ComedK release stated.

“We have sent individual communication to all students regarding the postponement. We have advised them not to panic and will hold the exam on an alternate day whenever the government permits,” said Dr S Kumar, secretary, ComedK.

The exam will proceed as scheduled on May 10 for all other candidates in unaffected cities. Time slots and sessions will remain as mentioned on the test admission Tickets.

Approximately 1.31 lac students are expected to appear for the ComedK 2025 exam, which serves as the entrance for engineering programmes in private colleges across Karnataka and select universities nationwide. The exam will take place in three phases: from 8:30 am to 11:30 am, 1 pm to 4 pm, and 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

Traditionally held on the second Sunday of May, this year’s exam was moved to Saturday due to a scheduling conflict with another national-level test.

This examination will be computer-based and is expected to be conducted smoothly with strict adherence to scheduled timings across all centres.
