Suhas Shetty case: DK, Udupi MLAs to meet Governor on May 9, demand NIA probe

Daijiworld Media Network - Karkala

Karkala, May 8: The Dakshina Kannada and Udupi legislators will meet the Governor on May 9 to demand that the investigation into the murder of Suhas Shetty be handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

There is strong suspicion that more than 100 people were involved in a conspiracy behind Suhas Shetty’s murder, with financial links extending across state and international borders. Allegations have also surfaced implicating some Mangaluru police officials in the case, and several women accused of assisting in the murder are yet to be arrested.

Only a thorough investigation by a national agency like the NIA can bring out the complete truth, the legislators believe. However, there appears to be little willingness from the state government to take such a decision.

Hence, MLAs from both coastal districts will urge the Governor to intervene in the matter, stated MLA Sunil Kumar in a press release.
