Sullia: Collision between cars at Bilinele; one dead

Sullia, May 8: One person died and two others were injured after an Innova car collided with a Swift car near Kaikamba-Gopali on the Subramanya-Gundya state highway in Bilinele village on May 6.

The deceased has been identified as 73-year-old Yalligayya from Ramanagara in Bengaluru. His son Naveen (29), who was driving the car, and Naveen's mother Daiyamma (52), sustained injuries in the accident.

The accident occurred in the evening when an Innova heading from Subramanya rammed into the Swift. Due to the impact, the Swift overturned. The occupants of the Swift were returning home after visiting the Kukke Subrahmanya temple.

The injured were rushed by ambulance to the Kadaba hospital and later shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for advanced treatment. Yalligayya, who had suffered serious injuries, succumbed to them later that night. A case has been registered at the Kadaba police station.
