Mumbai, May 5: Actor Namik Paul is all set to shake up the world of Kumkum Bhagya with his entry as the complex and brooding anti-hero Shivansh Randhava.

Known for his roles in Qubool Hai, Ek Duje Ke Vaaste, and Ek Deewaana Tha, Namik is taking on a character unlike any he’s played before — a sharp, emotionally guarded businessman whose life takes a dark turn.

“This is my first time playing an anti-hero, and I couldn’t have asked for a better platform than Kumkum Bhagya, a show that’s been beloved for years,” Namik shared. “Shivansh isn’t evil — he’s deeply wounded and driven by past trauma. Bringing that emotional depth to the screen is both a challenge and a thrill.”

Shivansh, raised by his strict and principled Bua Maa, lives by order and discipline. But when he crosses paths with Smita Zaveri, his composed world begins to unravel, sparking a personal vendetta.

“There’s a lot of suspense about what makes Shivansh who he is,” Namik teased. “He’s a good man, but life has pushed him down a darker path. I hope viewers connect with the layers in his journey.”

The actor praised the team behind Kumkum Bhagya and said he's excited for fans to see a new side of him.

The popular Zee TV series, inspired by Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, now stars Pranali Rathod and Akshay Bindra as its fourth-generation leads. Former cast members include Sriti Jha, Shabir Ahluwalia, Mugdha Chaphekar, Krishna Kaul, and Abrar Qazi.

Kumkum Bhagya airs on Zee TV.
